The servant-leader is servant first
It begins with
the natural feeling that one wants to serve, to serve first.
Then conscious choice brings one to aspire to lead.
Robert K. Greenleaf
The wellspring of leadership is service. What came first,
the desire to lead or the desire to serve others? For most
of us, the origins of our leadership emerged from a desire
to make a difference, to create change, to make things better.
Sometimes we'll lose our way and leadership begins to feel
like one more tool in our management kit. However, each time
we dip our cup into that wellspring of service, we regain
the passion and remember the point of our leadership.
Service in the community fuels our passion and the impact
of that service expands geometrically with each life we touch
with our time, our money, our talents. Make community service
a priority in your life.
Below are a few of the community service opportunities I'm
passionate about. Please take the time to visit these websites!
Your heart will be touched. Blessings, Sharon

I think the great livers, the people who are fully self-actualizing
and alive, are the great givers.

Servant-leadership is more than a concept, it is a fact.
Any great leader, by which I also mean an ethical leader of
any group, will see herself or himself as a servant of that
group and will act accordingly.
M. Scott Peck
